Abstract
The study explore the relationship between leadership type and followers¡¯ type on employee satisfaction. For the study, the researcher surveyed 455 clinics and hospitals employees using structured self administrated questionnaire.
The leadership style was classified to employee concern and authoritarian, and follower style was classified to alienated follower, effective follower, passive follower, conformist follower, and pragmatist follower.
In the category that leaders concerned their employees and their followers were effective and highly involved the organizational objectives simultaneously, the employee satisfaction score of job environment was significantly higher than other categories. While in the category that leaders concerned their employees and their followers were passive simultaneously, the employee satisfaction score of job environment was not significantly different.
When leaders¡¯ style was authoritarian, employee satisfaction score was not significantly different in any type of followers¡¯ style.
In the job involvement, when followers had effective style or highly involved their organizational objectives, their job involvement score was significantly higher than other followers¡¯ style.
In the satisfaction of organizational policy and human relation, when followers¡¯ style was alienated and conformist, the score was significantly higher than other followers¡¯ style.
Therefore, the leadership style had the influence on the job environment, and follower style had the influence on job involvement, organization policy, and human relation in the organization.
